National University of Ireland Galway (Irish OÉ Gaillimh) is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland. It is located in Ireland's westerly city of Galway. A tertiary-level educational institution, it is ranked among the top 2 per cent of universities in the world.With over 17,000 students and more than 2,400 staff, NUI Galway is the largest and oldest University in the West of Ireland. Location & Facilities

National University of Ireland Galway is located in Ireland's westerly city of Galway.Galway is a city in the West of Ireland in the province of Connacht and lies on the River Corrib between Lough Corrib and Galway Bay and is surrounded by County Galway.

Galway is currently ranked as the top destination to visit in Ireland by The Lonely Planet Guide (2012). They describe Galway as being steeped in history yet with a contemporary vibe.Galway is a cultural centre, attracting thousands to the many festivals throughout the year.Galway is young at heart, with students making up 20% of the population here. Galway is a great sporting city. Whatever you are into, from horse racing, Gaelic games, soccer and rugby to rowing, motorsport, greyhound racing and more.Galway is in close proximity to some amazing natural sites.

The main campus has over 90 buildings on 105 hectares of land situated on the banks of the River Corrib.

American College Dublin’s study abroad programme offers an exceptional opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a vibrant culture while pursuing academic study in an international setting. The American College Dublin has been ranked 7th in the world for study abroad institutions for academic experiences for 2012.

Internship: Students have the opportunity to diversify their study abroad experience through an internship program, custom-designed around their goals, work experiences, and educational background. American College Dublin students have interned with renowned companies such as Four Seasons Hotels, Logica CMG, Radisson, JP Morgan, Headway Ireland, and Hilton Hotels. An ACD internship coordinator will help the internship student secure a placement based on his or her preferences and submitted application materials.

Scholarships

India Specific Scholarships.

Sir Peter Freyer Special Merit Scholarship (Value: €13,750) in the area of Science, Bioinnovation, and ICT
Two Freyer Scholarships, comprising a full fee waiver (value: €13,750), are available. These scholarships are aimed at academic programmes in science, bioinnovation, and ICT. Applications for the scholarship are welcomed from Indian students* seeking to enter one of the selected taught Master’s programmes at NUI Galway.

Max Arthur Macauliffe Special Merit Scholarship (Valued: €13,750)
Three Macauliffe Scholarships, comprising a full fee waiver (value: €13,750), are available. These scholarships are aimed at academic programmes in all areas of the NUI Galway curriculum.

Postgraduate Merit Scholarships (Value: €2,750)
Twenty five Postgraduate Merit Scholarships, comprising a partial fee waiver (value: €2,750), are available. These scholarships are aimed at postgraduate programmes in all areas of the NUI Galway curriculum.

Undergraduate Merit Scholarships (Value: €2,750)
Ten Undergraduate Merit Scholarships, comprising a partial fee waiver (value: €2,750), are available. These scholarships are aimed at undergraduate programmes in all areas of the NUI Galway curriculum.

Government of Ireland Scholarship (Value: €21,250):
This scholarship is co-funded by the Irish Government and comprises a full tuition waiver plus a stipend of €7,500 to cover living expenses for one year. NUI Galway has participated in the schedule in previous years and hopes to do so again for the September 2016 intake.
