Location & Facilities
Our 200-acre idyllic campus is situated on Connecticut's coastline, providing for beautiful, unforgettable surroundings. But it's more than that - it's our dedication to each and every student's personal growth that makes our environment so unique.
The Robin Kanarek Learning Resource Center provides a simulated hospital environment where students practice basic to advanced nursing skills. Our medical equipment is state-of-the-art, with the highest fidelity simulators (SimMan 3G) as well as other Vital Sim units that allow students ample opportunity to put their classroom knowledge into practice.
Fairfield's nursing faculty has fully integrated simulation training into the nursing curriculum. The Resource Center includes a fully-equipped Intensive Care area complete with cardiac monitoring devices, a defibrillator, a ventilator, and a code cart. Four other acute care units contain hospital beds and the equipment necessary to perform physical assessments. A main skills lab provides a venue for students to practice taking physical assessments, interview patients and families, and take health histories. A grad skills practice clinic is available upon request.
Our undergraduate and graduate nursing programs utilize simulation within the curriculum to truly transfer theoretical knowledge into practice.
